Competition Rules
壹、宗旨 Objective
藉由此活動增加紐西蘭當地對台灣的認識並推廣台灣文化。為推廣台灣布袋戲文化，培養學子對傳統藝術的興趣與傳承，特舉辦本次校園比賽，鼓勵學生發揮創意，展現布袋戲的獨特力。
The primary goal of this event is to enhance local New Zealanders’ understanding of Taiwan and promote Taiwanese culture. To popularize Taiwanese glove puppetry (Budaixi) culture, cultivate students’ interest in and appreciation for traditional arts, this competition is specially organized to encourage students to showcase their creativity and the unique charm of Budaixi.

Step-by-Step: How to make a
Glove Puppet
(一)學校團體組：小學組 Primary School
初中/高中組 Junior and High School
(二)家庭或混齡組： 家庭成員或混合年齡組隊 Family members or mixed age group
組隊方式：每隊人數3到6人。Team Formation: Each team should be between 3- 6 members.
肆、呈現方式 Presentation Format：
- 布偶製作與介紹 Puppet Making and Introduction：針對主題或故事角色設計布偶，當天分享他們的設計理念。Design puppets based on the theme or story characters, and share the design concept on the day of the competition.
- 布袋戲戲劇演出 Glove Puppetry Performance：以完整的故事情節及布偶設計來做整體性演出。A comprehensive performance incorporating a complete storyline and puppet design.
- 歡迎參考 僑委會全球華文網「遊台灣」相關主題，選擇適合題材發揮創意 You are welcome to refer to the “Explore Taiwan” topics on the OCAC Global Chinese Language Website and choose suitable themes to develop your creative ideas
- 注意事項 Important Notes：
- 表演呈現 Performance Requirement： 參賽者需以布袋戲偶進行演出或分享設計理念。Contestants must perform or share their design concepts using glove puppets.
- 劇本要求 Script Requirements： 劇本內容須以台灣為主體或是成語故事角色。可自行創作或改編。內容須健康、正面，不得涉及色情、暴力或有爭議性的議題。 The script content must primarily feature Taiwan or characters from Chinese idiom stories (Chengyu). Original scripts or adaptations are permitted. The content must be wholesome and positive, and must not involve obscenity, violence, or controversial issues.
- 演出時間 Performance Duration： 每組演出時間不超過5分鐘（不包含前置與退場）。時間超過將扣分。Each group’s performance time must not exceed 5 minutes (excluding setup and exit). Points will be deducted for exceeding the time limit.
- 配樂與口白 Voice Acting and Narration：可全程真人配音，或使用預錄音檔不拘。Live voice acting or the use of pre-recorded audio files is acceptable.
- 配樂（不是必須）Music (Optional)： 現場備有藍芽喇叭，2支手持無限麥克風和2副小蜜蜂，如需要其他設備請自行攜帶A Bluetooth speaker, 2 handheld wireless microphones, and 2 lavalier microphones (small honeybees) will be provided on-site. Participants must bring their own equipment if other devices are needed.
伍、評分標準 Judging Criteria
布偶製作 Puppet Making
布偶設計（50%）：外觀、結構、細節呈現
Puppet Design（50%）：Appearance, structure, and attention to detail.
理念與構思（50%）：主題性、創意、文化意涵
Concept and Ideation（50%）：Relevance to the theme, creativity, and cultural significance.
戲劇演出 Performance
戲偶操偶技巧 （30%）： 評估操偶的熟練度、細膩度與戲偶情感的呈現，包含走步、手勢、眼神等基本功。
Puppet Manipulation Skills（30%）：Assessment of the proficiency, finesse, and emotional expression of the puppetry, including basic skills like walking, gestures, and “eye contact.”
劇本內容與創意（30%）： 評估故事的完整性、創新性、情感鋪陳與核心思想。
Script Content and Creativity（30%）： Assessment of the story’s completeness, originality, emotional pacing, and core message.
口白與配樂表現（30%）： 評估口白的情緒、咬字清晰度、與角色的契合度，以及配樂與劇情的搭配效果。
Narration/Voice and Music Performance（30%）： Assessment of the emotion in the narration/voice, clarity of articulation, suitability for the character, and the effectiveness of the music’s coordination with the plot.
整體舞台呈現（10%）： 評估佈景、道具與戲偶的整體協調性與視覺效果。
Overall Stage Presentation（10%）： Assessment of the overall harmony and visual effect of the backdrop, props, and puppets.

柒、競賽報名與獎勵 Competition Entry & Rewards
- Participation Reward | 參賽獎勵 每位參賽隊員均可獲得活動現場食物攤位抵用券 $10 元。 Each participating team member will receive a $10 food voucher, redeemable at any event food stall.
- Team Capacity | 參賽隊伍限額 本競賽理想規模為 24 組，報名上限為 30 組。 The ideal scale for this competition is 24 teams, with a maximum limit of 30 teams.
- Special Recognition | 特別獎項 除基本獎勵外，主辦單位將另外頒發特別獎以表揚傑出表現。 In addition to participation rewards, Special Awards will be presented by the organizers to recognize outstanding performances.
- 冠軍獎： 獎牌和獎章。First Place: A plague and a medal.
- 亞軍獎：獎牌和獎章。Merit: A plague and a medal.
- 季軍獎： 獎牌和獎章。Highly Recommended： A plague and a medal.
捌、注意事項 Other Notes
- 參賽者須遵守主辦單位之所有規定，若有違規情事，主辦單位有權取消其參賽資格。Participants must comply with all rules set by the organizer. The organizer reserves the right to disqualify any participant who violates these rules.
- 所有參賽作品的著作權歸參賽者所有，但主辦單位擁有其演出影片的公開播映、宣傳與教育推廣權利。The copyright of all entries belongs to the participants, but the organizer reserves the rights to publicly screen, promote, and use the performance videos for educational purposes.
- 如有未盡事宜，主辦單位保有最終解釋權與修訂權利。The organizer reserves the right of final interpretation and amendment of any matters not covered herein.
- 戲台規格與尺寸另擇期公布或詢問華夏秘書處。The specifications and dimensions of the puppet stage will be announced at a later date or can be inquired about at the Taiwanese Hwa Hsia Society Secretariat.
